Hedera Hashgraph has announced open access to its mainnet beta and is allowing developers to build decentralised applications (dapps) on its platform.

Being a public launch, any private citizen can create their account on the enterprise-grade public distributed ledger platform. Developers have already been building on the network over the last few months during its closed beta — and today, the Hedera mainnet is launched with 26 dapps and solutions that are running live now.

The Hedera Hashgraph network is offering three services with open access: cryptocurrency, smart contract, and file service. The mainnet beta will throttle speeds to 10,000 transactions per second. At present, Hedera’s smart contract and file service offerings are both currently throttled to 10 transactions per second. According to its plans, the platform is planning a systematic increase in speed throughout 2019. Furthermore, the recently announced Hedera Consensus Service will also be publicly available later this year.

The decentralised applications and solutions that are now live on the Hedera Mainnet are: AdProv, AdsDax, All Over Chain, Armada Chain, Binsignia, Carbon, Certara, Chainlink, Coinsquad, Earthtile, EVEC, Hash-Hash, Hashing Systems, Hbarprice, HEX, HManager, Intellectual Property Vault, Lonestar Data Technologies, MyEarth.Id, MyHbarWallet, Otrafy, PlayHash, Power Transition, Rejolut, Tune.fm, and Zabo.

Last month, IBM and Tata Communications joined the Hedera Governing Council, an entity which includes up to 39 multinational entities from a wide range of industries. The addition of these companies expands the Hedera Council’s diverse portfolio of companies from industries like telecommunications to financial services, law, and retail, the company said.
